This is Dorfinger KG
Dorfinger KG is a traditional family business, founded in 1919, and Austria’s market leader in processing potatoes, onions, and garlic. With over 50,000 tons of raw materials annually and state-of-the-art production facilities, this medium-sized company with around 80 employees focuses on quality and sustainability. By using digital tools like Lumiform, Dorfinger continuously improves its processes while maintaining flat hierarchies.
Zuzana Gruber, COO, and Petra Spevarova, QM, are the driving forces behind digital innovation at Dorfinger. “We are proud of our modern processes and our dedicated team,” says Zuzana. Both emphasize the importance of responsibility and teamwork, which form the core of Dorfinger’s success.
The Challenge
Dorfinger faced the challenge of optimizing its extensive quality and documentation processes. The previous methods, primarily based on Excel and paper, were cumbersome and inefficient. “Excel is a good program, but it’s not ideal for our quality management needs,” says Petra. The need for a solution that was both efficient and user-friendly became increasingly clear.
“Our quality management highlighted that we were falling behind in documentation,” adds Zuzana. The challenge was to find a system that could meet high standards while also reducing the workload for employees. This led to the search for a digital solution that not only increased efficiency but also improved the quality of internal processes.

Solution and implementation
The introduction of Lumiform at Dorfinger marked a pivotal step in optimizing internal processes. “It was by chance that we came across Lumiform, but it fit our needs perfectly,” shares Zuzana. The implementation was smooth and quick, thanks to the team’s openness to change. “We introduced the idea, and everyone was immediately on board.”
Lumiform’s intuitive user interface significantly eased the transition, allowing employees to start using the new digital checklists right away. The first use case was an internal audit, which was successfully completed in no time. The system’s flexibility and user-friendliness played a key role in making the shift to digital processes such a success.
Results
The introduction of Lumiform at Dorfinger has brought significant changes to daily operations. Digitizing processes has not only increased operational efficiency but also positively transformed the way the team works.

Documentation and quality assurance
The introduction of Lumiform has significantly improved documentation at Dorfinger. “Our documentation is now top-notch,” explains Petra. The previously paper-based systems have been replaced by digital checklists, providing greater transparency and accuracy. During inspections, all employees are now required to include photos and data, which has greatly enhanced quality assurance.
Zuzana adds, “In the past, it was just checkmarks on paper; now everything is carefully documented and reviewed.” This precise recording of information has streamlined internal processes and made them more reliable.
Time savings and sustainability
Switching to digital processes has resulted in significant time savings for Dorfinger. “We save a lot of paper and time,” says Petra. Electronic archiving has replaced countless folders, saving both space and resources. By reducing paper consumption, Dorfinger is making an important contribution to sustainability. Employees can now focus on their core tasks, as the time-consuming manual documentation is no longer necessary.
Team responsibility
Another positive effect of introducing Lumiform is the increased sense of responsibility among employees. “Involving the team in digital processes has significantly boosted engagement,” notes Zuzana.
Employees document their work and sign off on it, fostering a stronger connection to their tasks. This newfound responsibility has increased both engagement and motivation within the team. Additionally, the opportunity to suggest improvements encourages an open and collaborative work environment.
Future plans and outlook
Dorfinger plans to expand its use of Lumiform even further. The goal is to optimize more areas of the company.”We see great potential in using these digital tools in other departments as well,” Petra explains. The focus is on improving both efficiency and quality step by step. At the same time, employees will be actively involved in the process of change.
“We want to make full use of what digitalization has to offer,” adds Zuzana, “so we can boost our competitiveness.” In the long term, Dorfinger aims to integrate innovative technologies. These will promote sustainability and improve customer satisfaction at the same time.

Dorfinger encourages other companies to take the leap into digitalization with confidence. “It’s worth trying out new technologies and being open to change,” emphasizes Zuzana. The introduction of Lumiform has shown that even small steps can lead to significant improvements.
Petra advises, “Take the time to find the right tools for your needs and involve your team from the very beginning.” The positive impact on efficiency, quality, and employee satisfaction speaks for itself and can help other companies optimize their processes and make them future-proof.
